We are honoured to announce, the Technical University of Lisbon/ Instituto Superior de Agronomia, will host the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) All Division 5 (Forest Products) Conference, to take place in Estoril Congress Centre, from 3 – 13 July, 2012.

The IUFRO All-Division 5 Forest Products conference is held only every five years; this is a unique opportunity for the forestry industry, to raise awareness, visibility and recognition of the added value of the sector and its contribution to sustainable economic development.

We anticipate a minimum attendance of 500 delegates, from around the world, bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, decision makers and opinion leaders in forest products and related fields , namely, Agriculture, Industry, Environment and Energy, Governmental entities and Civil Society.

Discussion will embrace progress in research to meet rapidly increasing demands for all kinds of forest products, while maintaining the forest as a source of such products and a resource for broader social, economic and environmental benefits.

The scientific scope of the Conference will also integrate forest products “externalities”, such as alternative energies, Protected/ Biological Products, wine and eco-Tourism.
It is intended, to identify trends, present best practices, adapt policies, raise awareness and interact with the major makers of the sector.

In order to ensure greater visibility and recognition to companies and organizations involved, disclosure of the Conference provides a dynamic communications program.

We propose to integrate a large exhibition area, where companies and associations from the sector can present new products, services and solutions for technological innovation, research, architecture and design, environment, areas where the national industry has been a pioneer.
